Dylan Murry and Jim Cox are the first confirmed takers for the new for 2021 LMP3 class in selected rounds of the IMSA Weathertech Sportscar Championship.
The pairing will step up from the GS class of the Michelin Pilot Challenge where they have race-winning form in a Riley Motorsports-run Mercedes AMG GT4 to a new Ligier JS P320, again with Riley Motorsports in 2021.
“I am so excited!” said Murry, son of ex IMSA racer David Murray and a former race winner in the previous generation of LMP3 machinery in the IMSA Prototype Challenge.
Confirming a run at all seven available races for the new class including all four IMSA endures Hurry added: “Racing a prototype at Daytona has been something on my bucket list since I was born. I grew up going to that race watching my dad and all of my idols running around for 24 hours. Never did I think I would be out there too. I just can’t wait to have a shot to win a Rolex – a very special Rolex nevertheless!
“I can’t thank Jim and Wendy Cox enough for such an incredible opportunity, not only to get me up on my feet in racing but keeping me up on my feet for quite some time now. Thank you so much!!!!”
