Car Guy Set To Step Up To FIA WEC In 2021

Gotenba-based squad in recruitment drive

A comprehensive message on Takeshi Kimura’s Instagram page this morning indicates very strongly indeed that the Japanese Gotenba-based Car Guy team are set to request a 2021 entry into the GTE Am class of the FIA World Endurance Championship.

Today’s post outlines a number of team vacancies that Car Guy are looking to fill, including a search for a Silver-ranked driver.

Car Guy, the 2018/19 Asian Le Mans Series GT Champions and 2019/20 class runners up, as well as now, two-times Le Mans 24 Hours starters (after Car Guy manned and branded the MR Racing effort at Le Mans this year), together with his long-time advisor and co-driver Kei Cozzolino, look likely therefore to be the fourth Asian team to step up from the Asian Le Mans Series to the FIA WEC following in the wheel tracks of KCMG, Jackie Chan DC Racing and Clearwater Racing.
