As part of The SRO Press Conference at the Spa 24 Hours, Stephane Ratel revealed the provisional; calendar for the 2021 GT World Challenge Asia.
After the 2020 season was cancelled as a direct impact of the travel restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the decision has been taken to delay the start of the 2021 season to give the best possible opportunity to avoid ongoing restrictions.
The published calendar is far from complete but marks a statement of intent to get the Asian Series back on its feet.
The calendar outlines a proposed six-race season together with a pre-season test at Sepang in May coupled to a possible warm-up race if sufficient interest emerges.
The only confirmed dates on the schedule comes for Round 1 at Sepang on 19-20 June.
Beyond that there are races planned in July at either Buriram or Autopolis and then Motegi, then Suzuka in August, Shanghai in September and an October season finale at a venue yet to be confirmed in China.
