Following hot on the heels of a record entry for the sister Asian Le Mans Series, the European Le Mans Series has today revealed a bumper full-season entry for their 2021 season.
The Series’ top LMP2 class features 16 cars, all with Oreca chassis, the strongest LMP2 grid anywhere in the world with the exception of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
There are two car entries from returning Champions United Autosports and also from G-Drive Racing and IDEC Sport.
Algarve Pro Racing also field a single car under their own name alongside the pair of G-Drive Aurus 01s for G-Drive.
The biggest new name. for the ELMS is a surprise entry from Team WRT who add an Oreca to their already committed campaign in the FIA WEC, Robert Kubica is the sole named driver thus far.
LMP3 sees 17 entries, the largest class entry in the ELMS since 2018, a mix of returning teams from 2020 and from previous seasons, and a smattering of new blood.
The entry sees 15 Ligier JS P320s and a pair of Duqueine D08s.
The GTE class features 10 cars, the first double figures entry in the class since 2014. The already announced TF Sport Aston Martin is joined by a pair of Proton Porsches, Michael Fassbender set to return for this second season in the ELMS.
The entry is completed by seven Ferrari 488 GTEs, JMW Motorsport returns along with a trio of Iron Lynx cars, Rachel Frey announced in the car that is set to see a new trio of ‘Iron Dames’ take on the challenge as the trio that have raced in the series since 2019, graduate to the WEC this year.
Kessel field a single car with the #55 Spirit of Race Ferrari returning, joined by Francois Perrodo who is set to run dual programmes in the FIA WEC and ELMS.
