La Filière Frédéric Sausset by SRT41 will contest the ELMS races this season at Barcelona and the Red Bull Ring in the “Innovative Car” category.
The effort, set to utilise an adapted Oreca 07 Gibson, assisted by Graff Racing, will see the team field two of the three physically impaired drivers that have been a part of Fred Sausset’s training programme since 2018, the team’s 2020 racing plans postponed after the onset of the COVID19 pandemic after testing had begun.
The team was established by quadruple amputee and 2016 Garage 59 racer Frederic Sausset to encourage more drivers with physical disabilities to look to the sport, and to develop the technologies necessary to allow them to perform at a high level.
The team has also filed an entry for a Garage 56 entry for the 2021 Le Mans 24 Hours and will be present too at the ELMS Test Days in Barcelona.
Nigel Bailly and Takuma Aoki will race after competing with the team in the Ultimate Cup and in the VdeV Series in 2018 and 2019. The programme’s third driver, Snoussi Ben Moussa is not set to feature for personal reasons.
