Falken Motorsports Confirms 2021 Driver Lineup

Falken Motorsports has announced a new driver line-up for 2021 that sees two new drivers join the tyre brand’s team.

Lance David Arnold and Alessio Picariello join the team ensuring a strong mix of Nordschleife and Porsche experience for the current year as team stalwart Peter Dumbreck takes a step away from driving duties to begin a new role as brand ambassador.

Among the experienced and long-standing Falken drivers is Martin Ragginger. As the longest-serving driver in the team, the Austrian has been part of the Falken squad since 2011. He shares the latest Porsche 911 GT3 R with his compatriot Klaus Bachler.

Ragginger and Bachler have already tasted success together with the duo leading Falken’s first overall victory with a Porsche at the Nürburgring in 2018. In the 2015 season, Ragginger formed part of the line-up that achieved a historic third place in the legendary 24-hour race together with Wolf Henzler, Peter Dumbreck and Alexandre Imperatori.

Sven Müller is another returnee to the Falken Porsche in 2021. The proven Porsche expert has been driving various 911s since 2014, first as a junior and later as a works driver. In addition to the Nordschleife races for Falken, he will dovetail his Nürburgring commitment with further international GT racing outings. The team is strengthened by newcomer Lance David Arnold. The 34-year-old presenter of German TV channel VOX’s car show “Auto Mobil” is a Nordschleife specialist and also brings recent experience of the Porsche 911 GT3 R at the “Green Hell” to the team.

Further Porsche experience comes to the team from its works drivers. Former DTM driver and Bathurst 12h winner Dirk Werner and 2018 Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland champion Thomas Preining are reacquainted with Falken for 2021. They are joined by Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific Selected Driver Alessio Picariello. The Belgian was the winner of the LMGTE Drivers’ Championship in the 2020 European Le Mans Series, among other accolades.

Falken Motorsports will again contest the 2021 season with two Porsche 911 GT3 R cars, which will continue to be run by Schnabl Engineering from Butzbach. The team will take part in seven rounds of the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) as well as the legendary ADAC 24h Race at the Nürburgring. The season opener is scheduled for the ADAC Westfalenfahrt on March 27th.
