Canning Joins Mirage Racing For GT4 European Series

After two seasons in the FFSA French GT Championship, Mirage Racing will make its debut in the GT4 European Series this season with an Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 for Ruben Del Sarte and Tom Canning.

As the FFSA French GT Championship gets underway at Nogaro this weekend, Guillaume Bruot and Frédéric de Brabant confirmed they will add the European programme to their existing programme in France. The team will make its first appearance at Monza in just two weeks time, on April 16-18.

Del Sarte will compete for Mirage Racing in the French and European championships, with Canning joining Del Sarte on the European rounds. Despite their young age, both drivers have experience in GT4. Del Sarte competed in the British GT championship, before moving to the French championship and Canning winning the British GT4 title in 2019 with TF Sport.

“I am very proud to be able to take part in the European Championship as well as the French Championship with Mirage Racing. I know the team now, and it only took me a day at Nogaro to realise that this is the team to join if you want to combine success and pleasure,” said Del Sarte.

“I am delighted to be racing with such a professional and friendly structure. It’s a dream come true to be in the championship with such a fast driver as Tom Canning, and in an Aston Martin. I’m sure we’ll form a very strong duo, ready to take on the championship and compete for the title. I can’t wait to start in two weeks at Monza with Tom and Mirage Racing.”

“I’m looking forward to competing in the GT4 European Series alongside Ruben Del Sarte in the Mirage Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT4. I believe that together we make a solid team to fight for the title, and we will give absolutely everything we’ve got to make that happen,” added Canning.

Mirage Racing’s team boss Frédéric De Brabant, is looking forward to competing in the GT4 European Series.

“The target for this 2021 season was always clear, despite the difficulties of the current health crisis: consolidate our presence in FFSA GT while starting to expand to the European Championship to advance towards our medium-term goals. We are delighted with this opportunity with the Aston Martin and the promising duo of Ruben and Tom,” he said.

“We started working with Ruben this week, and everything is going extremely well, both on the professional and personal side. Our exchanges with Tom have also been very productive. We have mutual and very high objectives and ambitions. We now look forward to meeting again in Monza in a fortnight!”
