Inter Europol Competition team has confirmed that 24 year old rising star Louis Delétraz is to replace Renger van der Zande at the World Endurance Championship races at Portimao (12 and 13 June) and Fuji (25 and 26 September) in the Polish-flagged team’s #34 Oreca 07 Gibson.
Second generation racer Delétraz already has an LMP2 race win on his cv with a victory with Team WRT on their ELMS debut at Barcelona last month, this following a fourth place finish overall at Le Mans last year with Rebellion Racing.
He’ll share the #34 with Alex Brundle and Jakub ‘Kuba’ Smiechowski.
Louis Delétraz: “I am very happy to join Inter Europol Competition in the WEC at Portimao and Fuji as Renger is busy with his IMSA commitments. I can already see the team is very motivated and pushing for good results. I’m looking forward to working with Alex and Kuba.”
Sascha Fassbender: “I am very happy to welcome Louis, a very talented young driver, to our team. He certainly will be a worthy replacement for Renger in Portimao and Fuji.”
