The IMSA Weathertech Sportscar Championship race at Detroit’s Belle Isle circuit on Jun 11/12 will see a 20 car entry with the expected turn-out of six DPis and the pair of GTLM Corvettes making their first appearance at the team’s ‘home’ circuit since 2008.
There are no surprises in either class and with the entry, not including either LMP2 or LMP3 for the weekend’s action it’s the 12 car GTD entry that sees the biggest turnout.
Added to the entry are the returning #19 GRT Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo with Misha Goikhberg the only named driver so far, and the #75 SunEnergy1 Mercedes AMG GT3 Evo for Kenny Habul and Mikael Grenier.
The Gradient Racing Acura NSX GT3 Evo appears for the second time this year with Marc Miller the only driver currently named.
As previously made clear the #9 Pfaff Motorsport Porsche 911 GT3 R, #16 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R and the #79 Weathertech Racing/ Proton Porsche 911 RSR-19 from GTLM both miss the event with Belle Isle not counting for full season points in either GTLM or GTD.
