A Tweet today from Team WRT that the team now believe an electrical short caused the car’s ECU to shut down, bringing the car to a halt on the final lap of the 2021 Le Mans 24 Hours when leading the LMP2 class comfortably.
The team report that the car fired up immediately, on the button, when recovered from Parc Ferme, with around 20 litres of fuel still in the tank and the Gibson engine and ancillaries all in perfect condition.

The #41 Oreca, crewed by Yifei Ye, Louis Deltraz and Robert Kubica failed to complete the final lap and was thus not classified as a finisher per the sporting regulations for the 24 Hours.
The sister #31 Team WRT Oreca took the class win.
