Ligier Returns To Sportscar Manufacturing
Claude Foubert recently hinted that this would be fact
before long – and now he confirms that the famous French name
will be back on the track this weekend, at Magny-Cours, for the
last round of the VdeV Championship (October 29-30).
Ligier’s new car is the CN Class JS49, which
has been constructed in the Automobiles Martini workshop. The car
will make its debut this Saturday, in the VdeV Modern Sprint race,
driven by none other than Jonathan Cochet.
In 1975, Guy
Chasseuil and the late Jean-Louis Lafosse drove this Ligier JS2-Ford
(below) at Le Mans, finishing in second place, less than two laps
behind the Gulf-Ford of Jacky Ickx and Derek Bell.
