The third round of the ADAC GT Masters from the Sachsenring will be aired as-live on Motors TV this Wednesday evening, 12th June, presented by Mark Cole and Stuart Hall. There have been four different winners in the opening four races of the international GT3 series, with victories going to Audi and Corvette at Oschersleben, and to Ford and BMW at Spa.
The Sachsenring is every bit as challenging as Spa with its dramatic elevation changes and blind corners, and is expected to throw up further different winners as Balance of Performance adjustments start to bite. Oschersleben winners Christopher Mies/Rene Rast (Prosperia Abt Audi LMS Ultra) and Spa winners Frank Kechele/Dominick Schwager (Lambda Performance Ford GT) will be heaviest, each carrying 40kgs, but Rast says “Sachsenring has always suited the Audi, so I’m feeling quite confident.”
The points chase is led by Dutch pairing Jeroen den Boer and Simon Knap, who took a win at Zandvoort last year with their DB Motorsport BMW Z4, and have already posted three podiums this year at the head of the 28-car field, the top 16 of which were covered by 1 second after qualifying on the Saxony circuit. UK coverage starts at 21.00 BST, with European an hour earlier at 21.00 CET.
