There is no on-track activity today at Paul Ricard but the paddock is really busy with teams setting up and cars heading down to scrutineering. At 3 pm the temperature was just around 26ºC, but a nice wind kept things cool.

As a mark of respect for Allan Simonsen all cars racing this weekend will carry a special sticker that reads “In memory of Allan Simonsen – Great Dane”. A fitting tribute to the Danish driver who raced in various SRO series over the years.

FIA GT Series team HTP Motorsport has entered one Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 here at Paul Ricard and it’s running in a different livery than it had in the FIA GT Series and ADAC GT Masters so far.

The Haribo Racing Team line-up has changed for this weekend with Christian Menzel replacing Hans Guido Riegel. As Menzel will join Collard and Stursberg the #8 Porsche 997 GT3 R will now race in the Pro class rather than the Pro-Am Cup.

Kessel Racing’s #111 will return to the series, but it won’t be in the black livery it ran at the season opener in Monza. Instead the car will be nearly identical to the #44 of Ramos, Zampieri and Rigon.

With 62 cars the paddock is packed and all the pit boxes are in use. Some of the transporters had to be parked outside the paddock. We’ve seen meetings here at Paul Ricard that were less busy.
