Nick Heidfeld, Nicoloas Prost and Mathias Beche are set to contest the FIA WEC rounds in the single Rebellion Racing Lola Toyota at Interlagos and Austin as Neel Jani begins his test programme with the 2014 Porsche LMP1 in a matter of days.
Jani will though contest Petit Le Mans for Rebellion as the team attempt to defend their 2012 title in what is currently set to be the final domestic race for LMP1s in the USA. He’s likely to share that drive with Prost and Heidfeld with Beche and Andrea Belicchi on WEC duty at Fuji on the same weekend.
The final two WEC rounds at Shanghai and Bahrain in November look set to see Prost, Beche and Belicchi driving.
“We’re making sure that we give all the guys the opportunity to keep their hand in for the remainder of the season ahead of what will be a step up for us in 2014.
“The new car programme is a major commitment for the team and it’s important to get the balance right between supporting the World Championship and ensuring that our future plans are given the right level of resource.
“We’ll be looking to run fast and reliably for the remainder of the season and of course a repeat win at Petit would be a great achievement with the current package.”
