It’s been a tough first year for the fledgling Asian Le Mans Series with a real struggle to find full season grid numbers.
Some teams though are putting a toe in the water and the season finale at Sepang on 8 December will see some changes to the grid.
That will include the first entry in the Series from a BMW as Taiwanese team AAI-RSTRADA bring their #91 BMW Z4 GT3 to the fray in Sepang, replacing the McLaren they have fielded thus far, as they look to claim one of the two invitations to the 2014 24 Hours of Le Mans available to GTC teams.
The team will field the same driver line-up in the BMW as was used in Zhuhai (Jun San Chen, Takeshi Tsuchiya, and Tatsuya Tanigawa).
AAI-RSTRADA are currently in 3rd place in the GTC Team Championship on 40 points behind Craft Racing on 42, and AF Corse on 69 (who still need to start the race in Sepang to secure the Team Championship).
In addition AAI-RSTRADA have entered a second car, this time into the GTE class. They will run their #35 PORSCHE 997 RSR against Taisan Ken Endless’ #70 Ferrari 458 GTE giving the Ferrari a much needed taste of competition.
