The major car-related story of the meeting so far in Bahrain is, of course, the debut, required by regulations prior to the end of this season, of the 2014 spec Porsche 911 RSR.
Rather helpfully Team Manthey parked one of the cars out on the pit apron this morning which gave us an ideal opportunity to compare and contrast.
Both cars here are brand new chassis, the previous factory cars are here too, with one car rumoured to be US bound as the initial car to find its way into Core’s hands ahead of the two car 2014 spec effort in TUSC.
There’s a new front air dam and sidelight assembly, one car has a white coloured panel, the other black.
The rear view clearly shows a major difference in the size of the rear wing and rear tyre size is believed to be increased too (though the visual evidence of this is pretty marginal) together with a more subtle change to the rear engine cover.
From the side there’s precious little to suggest major changes.
