SMP Racing confirm GTE Driver Squad
The new for 2014 GTE programme for SMP Racing will see long time Ferrari/ Maserati factory man Andrea Bertolini anchor a three man driver squad for the ELMS season, the Italian will be joined by WEC full season pair (in one of the teams two new Oreca Nissans) Sergey Zlobin et Viktor Shaitar.
And IMSA Performance Finalise Their Drivers Too
The driving line-ups for the pair of Porsche 911 GT3 RSRs to be campaigned by the crack IMSA Performance Matmut squad in the GTE class of the full season ELMS has also now been confirmed.
The #67 Porsche will see 1993 Le Mans 24 Hours winner Eric Hélary joined by OAK racing regulars Jean-Marc Merlin and Erik Maris, this the trio slated for the sole confirmed IMSA Performance Le Mans entry too.
The sister #76 car meanwhile sees the very rapid Nicolas Armindo again join forces with team boss Raymond Narac. They’ll be joined by 2011 FFSA GT Tour Champion Laurent Pasquali.
Sébastien Loeb Racing has appointed Franck Tiné as their new Sporting Director.
Tiné began his motorsport career in Asia before focusing his activities on European championships. He recently collaborated with Sunred’s squad not only in the Seat Leon Super Copa, but also at the WTCC and in GT.
Last year he was the BMW Sports Trophy Team India’s team manager and will be in charge of all Sébastien Loeb Racing’s sports activities.
Tiné will be working under the guidance of Dominique Heintz, Team Principal who will be joined by Sébastien Loeb at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and alongside Léo Thomas, Technical Director. Founder of LAP Sport Management.
