Bright sunshine but a touch of frost greeted the DSC team this morning at Paul Ricard with the first of two days of track action to come, today’s sessions not open to the public but tomorrow’s sessions seeing free entry to the track and paddock with a rumoured 8000 tickets already claimed.
The cars are on track from 9am for the first 4 hour session with an afternoon and evening session too today (the final 2 hour session in full darkness from 7pm)
Sam Bird was confirmed to DSC yesterday evening as featuring as part of one of AF Corse’s GTE AM crews in the FIA WEC race at Silverstone and at Le Mans. James Calado is indeed confirmed as a full season signing in GTE Pro as revealed on DSC some time ago.
Millennium Racing have both of their Oreca Nissans here but only half of their drivers – Fabien Giroix, Shinji Nakano and John Martin will share both cars but are likely to run only on Friday at present.
Khalid Al Qubaisi has joined the #88 Proton Porsche crew for the FIA WEC, the Abu Dhabi Racing anchorman confirmed to DSC at the Dubai 24 Hours earlier this year that he was looking for a route into a WEC programme.
