In a very welcome move, the British GT Championship officially launches its 2014 season at Donington Park next Tuesday, April 8th, with the traditional media day and is actively inviting members of the public to come along and enjoy the proceedings.
In addition to being able to watch the official test sessions for BGT – around 30 cars expected – and British F3, fans in attendance will also have the chance to enter a competition to win a passenger ride in one of two very special vehicles in attendance: McLaren’s P1 Hypercar and Nissan’s fast and furious Juke-R.
If that wasn’t enough, Martin Brundle and Damon Hill will also be in attendance, as will former British F3 and current FIA WEC racer Bruno Senna – the trio filming a segment for Sky Sports F1 for broadcast later in the season and driving some ‘iconic machinery’.
There is no charge for entrance, but donations will be taken for Neil Cunningham’s charity, www.racing4mnd.org, and Neil will himself also attend the day.
“The 2014 season promises to be another epic in the history of the British GT Championship,” said British GT Championship Series Manager, Benjamin Franassovici. “We have a fantastic array of exciting machinery with over ten manufacturers represented. The driver line-ups we have should offer superb racing and the sound and spectacle of real GT cars on Britain’s finest race tracks should not be underestimated.”
