The 2015 British GT Championship is set to see a newly rejuvenated GTC class alongside the headlining GT3 machines, the class, for the very fastest one make GT racers offers pace, drama but lower operating costs than GT3.
And early out of the stocks for 2015 are a brand new team with a very familiar face at the helm.
Eurospares Racing has been established with the backing of car owner James Pumo (on right below) and the Team Principal is none other than Thomas Erdos.

The team will start their campaign with a pair of GTC cars available – and what a pair of cars they are, a current spec Ferrari 458 Challenge and a Lamborghini Super Trofeo, both liveried in Eurospares Racings new and very eye-catching livery.

The team are currently in the midst of honing their cars ahead of post season testing, the cars currently heading for a rebuild and then warm weather testing.

“We are doing the heavy lifting work of getting the cars sorted for 2015 with a top backroom team and will soon be in a position to offer not only race packages for drivers for next season but also a pretty unrivalled package of winter testing and driver coaching support.”
With Erdos himself having taken two class wins at the Le Mans 24 Hours, a pair of Championship titles (2007 + 2010) in the Le Mans Series and the British GT Championship in 2002 there’s no shortage of in-house ability and experience on tap for any driver stepping into the new team.

“The GTC class is an ideal stepping stone into GT racing, the cars are fast, they give a very similar driving ‘feel’ to GT3 cars without the exposure earlier in a driving career to the pretty heavy costs of running the marginally faster cars.
“I think the GTC class has real potential and we are delighted to be amongst the first to declare an intention to be out there next year – We’d expect our team to be right in the thick of things from the very start of the season.
“Benjamin and the SRO have proved that they can put on a really good show. The British GT Series is arguably the best national GT Series worldwide. A huge amount of credit has to go to Benji and his Team at the SRO. We’re very eager to join the grid in the new for 2015 GTC Class.”

Testing and race packages are available for discussion right now. Interested parties can contact Thomas directly on thomas@thomaserdos.com or on his mobile: 07850 633 366.
Both cars look set to be on display at this coming weekend’s British GT Championship meeting at Brands Hatch.
