OAK Racing have announced an entry for three of the remaining five rounds of the 2014 FIA WEC for one of their Judd powered Morgan LMP2s in the team’s iconic black and pink livery.
The car, which will be numbered #35, will feature a different driver squad for each of its planned appearances Af Fuji, Shanghai and Bahrain.
Fuji will see Alex Brundle and Gustavo Yacaman joined by Keiko Ihara
Shanghai sees David Cheng and Ho-Pin Tung joined by team newcomer Mark Patterson.
Bahrain sees an amalgam of the previous crew with Patterson driving again, this time with Ihara and Cheng.
OAK Racing already supports the G-Drive effort in the WEC which switches from next weekend’s Austin round from the Morgan Nissan to the new Ligier Coupe.
DSC believes that the car, which is not a full season entry, will not be able to score Championship points. It may though be a taster for things to come in 2015, Jacques Nicolet told DSC at Le Mans this year that he was keen to investigate the potential for an all gentleman squad in a Ligier Coupe next year targeting a non Championship programme of selected events.
