The Risi Competizione, TRG Aston Martin and Park Place teams have all confirmed their driver line-ups for the Rolex 24 Hours At Daytona later this month.
Risi Competizione welcomes Pierre Kaffer and Giancarlo Fisichella back for another full year of TUSCC GT Le Mans competition at the wheel of its Ferrari 458. The pair will be joined by veteran Olivier Beretta and Gulf 12 Hours winner Davide Rigon at Daytona.
“Although we didn’t have the success or luck we had hoped for last year, the pairing of Pierre Kaffer and Giancarlo Fisichella was a good match for our team,” said team owner Giuseppe Risi.
“We wanted them back this season as we make another attempt at the GTLM championship. The team is working hard to bring the best car to the competitive battle in GTLM. We’ve had great successes with Ferrari over the years and would like to extend that streak in 2015.”
Elsewhere, former overall Daytona 24 winner TRG will be contesting the GT Daytona class this time around, with its Aston Martin Vantage GT3. Team owner Kevin Buckler has announced the addition of veteran sportscar racer and champion Brandon Davis to the line-up, placing him alongside team-mates Christina Nielsen, James Davison and Christoffer Nygaard.
Davis is no stranger to TRG-AMR, having piloted a number of cars for the team over the years, including last year’s Rolex 24, the team’s first with the new V12 Vantage GT3 platform and a win at Sonoma raceway in 2014 piloting a V8 Vantage GT4.
Finally, the Park Place Motorsport Porsche squad will field a five-strong line-up of team principal Patrick Lindsey, Jim Norman, Spencer Pumpelly, David Ducote and on-loan factory McLaren driver Kevin Estre at Daytona.
“To have Kevin Estre and Jim Norman return to Park Place for this year is wonderful and to add Spencer Pumpelly back into the Park Place family is a big score for us,” said Lindsey. “I’m excited to welcome David Ducote into our team and while it will be his first Daytona 24-hour race, his talent in the IMSA Porsche GT3 Challenge has been duly noted by many. It’s going to be a strong effort.”
