German Ferrari team Rinaldi Racing is expanding to the Blancpain Sprint Series alongside a renewed Blancpain Endurance Series campaign in 2015. GT veterans Marco Seefried and Norbert Siedler will share the squad’s Ferrari 458 GT3 in the Sprint Series, with Rinat Solikhov joining for the Endurance rounds.
Team principal Michele Rinaldi said: “We’re really glad that we were able to realize such a comprehensive program this season. Both Blancpain series are a quite demanding matter. The races take place all over Europe and with that we found a perfect field of activities for the team. With Marco and Norbert, we could sign two strong drivers who we aim for podium finishes with. We also want to become established in the Blancpain Endurance Series.”
The 39-year-old Seefried already has an Endurance Series campaign with Rinaldi under his belt, as well as a second-place overall finish at the Nürburgring 24 Hours. Siedler, 32, is a former Porsche Supercup runner-up.
In addition to its Blancpain outings, Rinaldi will once again take in VLN races as well as the Nürburgring 24 hours. It’s also taking part in selected rounds of the 24H Series, starting with this weekend’s 12-hour race in Mugello.
