This is the Nissan engined Ligier that will be providing Krohn Racing with their opportunity to test here either later today or from tomorrow. That leaves two cars listed that are still to run.
The first is the #27 SMP Racing BR01 Nissan engined LMP2 coupe, the new car has still not arrived at the track.
The other is the SMP Racing GTC Ferrari with a developing story over the tyres for this car.
The GTC class now has one make Dunlop Tyres and Goodyear Dunlop are a US owned company.
SMP Bank, and SMP Racing owner Boris Rotenberg are both parties listed in current US trade sanctions against Russian companies and individuals and, as such, Goodyear Dunlop are unable to supply tyres for the car.
There appears to be nothing to prevent the cars from running at this test on tyres they currently have in stock.
SMP maintain that they only planned to run the GTC car tomorrow in any case as Boris Rotenberg is not present here today – His name is indeed on the entry listed as not authorised to drive today (i.e. he has not signed on)
The team are currently looking for a solution that will enable them to fulfil their full season entry.
The #58 GTE Ferrari in unpainted finish in the hands of Scuderia Villorba Corse is here tyre testing for Dunlop in the hands of Daniel Serra and Olivier Beretta.
“It is tyre development for open competition tyres for the future. We are looking to later this year as well as further into the future and 2016,” said Dunlop’s James Bailey. “Of course at Le Mans this year there will be teams competing here that will have the choice of suppliers there, we’d like to ensure that they have a Dunlop option.”
The latest entry list for the ELMS Test Days at Paul Ricard features a number of driver that we expect to see arriving tomorrow.
In LMP2 Rodolfo Gonzales is set to join Andrea Roda and James Winslow at Algarve Pro.
Nic Minassian is added to the list for the #27 SMP Racing BR01, the car yet to arrive here today.
Pegasus Racing have added David Cheng with Tracy Krohn and Nic Jonsson both set now to drive tomorrow only.
Andy Priaulx arrives tomorrow for Marc VDS duty and Daniel Serra, here already, did not sign on today and therefore cannot join Olivier Beretta in the #58 Villorba Corsa Dunlop Development Ferrari.
In GTC Stuart Hall is listed in the #62 AF Corse Ferrari with Thomas Flohr, Marco Cioci should drive the #63 AF 458.
