Alex Lynn looks set to join Sam Bird on the driver roster for the Bahrain FIA WEC test, the ex GP3 Champion, GP2 race winner and current Williams F1 reserve driver’s father Shaun contested the Le Mans 24 Hours in 2011 in a CRS Racing Ferrari.
Philipp Eng, 2015 Porsche Supercup and 2014 and 2015 Carrera Cup Germany Championship winner and Nicky Catsburg (below), 2015 Spa 24 Hours winner with the now defunct Marc VDS Racing team will test a Porsche Team Manthey Porsche 911 RSR in the Bahrain WEC ‘Young Drivers’ test.
The LMP2 test session that saw Sir Chris Hoy and Charlie Robertson try out the Greaves Motorsport Gibson Nissan also saw the team try out other hopefuls with initial 2015 Jota Sport signing Nick Yelloly revealing on Twitter that he had tested, DSC believe at least two other current single seater drivers also tried out the Gibson.
World Series by Renault man Tio Ellinas will join Lewis Williamson on the test roster for Strakka Racing at the Bahrain FIA WEC Rookie Test.
Ellinas finished fourth in this year’s Formula Renault 3.5 championship with two wins driving for Strakka, was awarded the test for being the top scorer in the team’s single seater squad.
