We reported earlier this year that 2011 Le Mans LMP2 winner Olivier Lombard was set to return to the track in 2016 and now we can reveal that he is part of the plans for yet another new team.
So24! has been born from a coming together between Dominique Payen and Jean Lombard.
Dominique Payen is in charge of SO24!, a team which has emerged from partnerships forged via the ACO (Automobile Club de l’Ouest) sport driving school.
Jean Lombard has trained a whole generation of drivers with the Formula Ford sport driving school in Montlhery and has also been the manager of many teams in different racing disciplines.
Together they have formed So24! By Lombard Racing, the team will be based in Le Mans and will enter a car apiece in LMP2 and LMP3 with an LMP2 entry being requested for the 2016 Le Mans 24 Hours.
Both cars will be Ligier chassis.
Olivier Lombard will be joined by ex Signatech Alpine man Vincent Capillaire in the LMP2 class Ligier JS P2 whilst Thomas Dagoneau and two other drivers (still to be unveiled) will make up the LMP3 crew.
