One surprise announcement this evening was that “Due to the strong response from customer teams around the world, Porsche has decided to increase production of the 911 GT3 R and in order to supply nearly 40 cars.”
That leaves a number of as yet unannounced programmes still to see the light of day including programmes for IMSA and Japanese Super GT teams.
Two further announcements relating to GT3 programmes will see Patrick Long contesting a full season in the Pirelli World Challenge in a new Effort racing Porsche 911 GT3R.
Jörg Bergmeister meanwhile will be racing in several rounds of the Japanese Super GT Championship in the GT300 class.
