TRG-AMR have announced plans for Daytona and Sebring with a 2 car Aston Martin effort backed by Aston Martin North America and Aston Martin Racing in the GTD class for GT3 spec machinery.
The team are planning for a full season effort with Aston Martin in the Weathertech backed Championship and, to that end, Aston Martin are now confirmed as IMSA Partners allowing the cars to score Manufacturers Championship points.
First target though are the season’s opening enduros with TRG looking to score a fifth class win at the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona (including the overall win in 2003) part of an astonishing Rolex 24 record which includes 13 podium finishes and the 2015 GTD class pole with the #007 Aston Martin.
“Aston Martin Racing is looking forward to partnering even closer with TRG in North America in the 4th year of our partnership,” stated John Gaw, Team Principal of Aston Martin Racing. “IMSA is an important series in North America and to lead going into the final round at Petit in 2015 was an exciting campaign led by TRG-AMR. Aston Martin Racing is looking forward to what 2016 will look like with the new regulations, and will join TRG-AMR for the first two critical races at Daytona and Sebring to kick off the 2016 campaign and season.”

Driver line-ups for both races will be announced in due course.
