Also released as part of the updated 2016 Regulations for the Le Mans 24 Hours is the snippet that Michael Shank Racing in LMP2 and Scuderia Corsa in GTE Am are invited as 2016 entrants as representatives of the IMSA Championships.
The entry marks the first entry for the race from Michael Shank Racing and the second consecutive appearance for Scuderia Corsa who scored a podium finish on their GTE Am debut in 2015.
One additional entry snippet is that the winner of the GT3 class in the Michelin GT3 Le Mans Cup 2016 will receive an invitation to the 2017 Le Mans 24 Hours in the GTE Am category.
