Teo Martín Motorsport, the Spanish team that took the International GT Open 2015 with Miguel Ramos and Álvaro Parente, will compete in 2016 with two new BMW M6 GT3s, in replacement of the McLaren 650 S’ entered this year. For the Madrid-based squad, it will mean a come-back to the brand with which it conquered significant successes in the Spanish Touring Car Championship in the ‘80s and ‘90s.
Teo Martín Motorsport will enter two units of the new GT racer made in Munich, and is currently finalizing the driver line-ups, which will have a strong Iberian taste.
The Spanish squad will also have a new director, Emilio de Villota Jr, who has been appointed to lead all sporting activities of the team, which will also be present in the Euroformula Open and in the Formula 3.5 V8, following the recent merger between Teo Martín Motorsport and Emilio de Villota Motorsport.
“I am happy to cooperate again with BMW Motorsport,” Teodoro Martín said. “Which has always been very close to my heart and instrumental in our successes in the CET in the past, and with whom we have always been in excellent terms. This year with the McLaren has been very important and we hope to continue to be as competitive with BMW.”
