SPV Racing Launches Ligier LMP3 Programme

SPV Racing has confirmed its intention to participate in the 2016 European Le Mans Series, with the unveiling of its new Ligier JS P3.

At the the launch SPV Racing’s CEO Raul Garcia and team manager Lars GV Lindberg also announced details of their new SPV Endurance Academy. Under the mentorship of former Formula 1 test driver Borja Garcia and experienced GT driver Alan Sicart, young talent will progress through a comprehensive training programme both on and off the track, before they graduate to racing in the team’s LMP3 programme.

SPV Racing also confirmed its lead driver for 2016, with Borja Garcia making his European Le Mans Series debut in LMP3. The former Toyota Formula 1 test and reserve driver has been a multiple champion in many series throughout his career, before moving to the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series in 2013. Garcia is aiming to begin his own road to the Le Mans 24 Hours.

“We are delighted to launch our new team into the European Le Mans Series for 2016,” said team manager Lars GV Lindberg. “It’s great to have Borja Garcia joining us on our exciting Road to Le Mans, which we aim to achieve by 2019. Tonight has been about showing our plans, introducing our fantastic new Ligier JS P3 and giving a background to our new SPV Endurance Academy, which we hope will allow us to take young drivers to the 24 Hours of Le Mans.”
