Simon Trummer wasn’t able to test this week for ByKolles after needing to undergo a minor operation.
“Of course, we would have needed him in the car, mainly because Pierre Kaffer is currently on official testing duties for Audi in Japan, “ Said ByKolles Racing Head of Operations, Boris Bermes.
“However, we didn’t want to take a risk, as health comes first, and more importantly we are confident that Simon will be ok for the season opener in Silverstone. In the meantime we will work through our testing programme with Oliver and continue to improve our technical package in all areas.”
Toyota meanwhile were working through their planned programme with little problem until the #5 TS050 stopped on track having reportedly lost some bodywork.
The TS050 ran in the daytime sessions yesterday in low downforce trim (above) with the Friday night sessions and today’s track action set to feature the high downforce bodywork.
Toyota will stay on for testing tomorrow at Paul Ricard with The Audi Sport, Ford and Gulf Racing UK teams amongst other takers for more Paul Ricard track time.
