Following the incident on the first competitive lap in Race 2 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, JD Davison (#33 Always Evolving Nissan GT-R) has been handed a penalty by the race officials for avoidable contact, which has demoted him from second to 11th in the results.
Davison ran three-wide with Adderly Fong’s Bentley and Ryan Eversley’s Acura down the Mario Andretti Straight, and squeezed Eversley into Fong, causing both to retire after colliding with the barriers.
The Always Evolving team has appealed the decision.
News then came this morning that the damage Ryan Eversely’s Acura TLX-GT from the incident is too significant for the team to be able to repair it in time to take part in the round at Lime Rock Park this weekend.
