After 24 hours that has seen significant news about Jaguar, and about Jenson Button, here’s a tale that draws both strands together as the 2009 Formula One World Champion will make his first ever start on the full Le Mans circuit later this year, but not in the 24 Hour classic.
Instead his debut will come at the wheel of a 1988 Jaguar XJR-9 in the Le Mans Classic Group C race (6-8 July), this just confirmed on the meeting’s Twitter feed.
