DB Autosport Sets The Pace In Paul Ricard FP2

Ferraris make up the top five in GT3

With the sun finally out at Paul Ricard, DB Autosport set the fastest time of the day in the second Free Practice session of the Michelin Le Mans Cup’s opening weekend.

Driver Nicolas Schatz set the time, a 1:52.044, 0.3 seconds ahead of FP1 pace-setter Laurents Hörr in the #30 CD Sport Norma. The best of the Ligier JS P3s, ended up third, Antionin Borga 1.5 seconds off Schatz in the #24 Cool Racing example.

Completing the top five, were eventually the second DB Autosport Norma, with a time of 1:53.577, and the #2 Ecurie Ecosse Ligier, 1.6 seconds off the top time.

In GT3, it was another Ferrari 1-2-3-4-5, the #8 Kessel Racing 488 GT3 on top after Giacomo Piccini’s 1:55.655. The #71 AF Corse Ferrari, which finished up first in FP1 before an off late in the session, ended up second, with the #77 Kessel Ferrari third.

Once again, it wasn’t a completely clean run for the field, despite the improvement in conditions trackside. The red flags came out for an un-identefied car stopping at Turn 1.

Qualifying for Round 1 of the 2018 Michelin Le Mans Cup will take place at 11:50 local time tomorrow morning.
