An FIA bulletin just issued in the Spa Francorchamps press room has confirmed that Pietro Fittipaldi has suffered suspected fractures to both legs after a violent crash in LMP Qualifying aboard the #10 DragonSpeed BR1 Gibson.
The bulletin, shown in full below, also confirms that the 2017 V8 Formula Champion, grandson of Emerson Fittipaldi, has been airlifted by helicopter to the Centre Hospitalier de la Citadelle de Liège.
The injuries are reported not to be life threatening but Fittipaldi now looks certain to miss his planned Indy 500 effort with Dale Coyne racing.
