This weekend’s European Le Mans Series 4 Hours of Monza sports a 43-car entry list despite three fewer guest entries from the World Endurance Championship than the first round at Paul Ricard.
The #33 TDS Racing Oreca 07, running as #33 this weekend due to IDEC Sport beating them to the punch for their usual #28 in ELMS, is the only guest entry this weekend. The car is set to be driven by the regular WEC trio of Matthieu Vaxiviere, Francois Perrodo, and Loic Duval.
Further connections to the WEC paddock exist with the #80 Ebimotors Porsche 911 RSR GTE, that car being the same one that ran last weekend at Spa-Francorchamps as the #88 Dempsey-Proton Racing car.
Also present this weekend is the #26 G-Drive Racing Oreca 07, that car was a guest entry for the Spa round of the WEC , which it won, and returns to its normal role as a full-season ELMS entry here at Monza with Roman Rusinov looking at options to add other WEC races to the team schedule.
Two cars have had to have damage repaired following incidents during the pre-meeting testing that occurred yesterday.
The #3 United Autosports Ligier JSP3 driven by Anthony Wells suffered damage after a fairly substantial off, the car though is fully repaired and ready for track action tomorrow.
The #47 Cetilar Villorba Corse Dallara P217 also sustained damage during the test, the car was repaired overnight and was ready and waiting for its slot in the scrutineering line this morning.
A driver lineup change in the #14 Inter Europol Competition sees Hendrik Still step into the car this weekend. Still replaces Swede Henning Enqvist who was a late draft for the team for Paul Ricard’s opening round.
Enqvist however will be joining the #20 Racing for Poland Ligier JSP3 this weekend. That car is making its debut in the ELMS with a one-off, for now at least, at Monza.
Enqvist will be driving alongside Tomasz Blicharski, and Alex Fontana.
The European Le Mans Series 4 Hours of Monza is scheduled for 12:30 local time on Sunday May 13th. You can stream both the ELMS and Le Mans Cup qualifying sessions and races on DSC this weekend.
In the booth, Alex Brundle will be joining the DSC editor, as Graham Goodwin’s regular partner Jonny Palmer is on Nürburgring 24 Hours duty with Radio Le Mans.
