The final entry list for the inaugural GT4 International Cup has been issued by SRO, with 21 cars set to compete this weekend in the Bahrain GT Festival, alongside the GT3-based FIA GT Nations Cup.
Within the entry, there’s plenty of variety, as ERIKS (M4), Audi, McLaren, KTM, Alpine, Mercedes, Porsche, Aston Martin, Maserati and Ginetta are represented.
The four Audis are from Phoenix Racing and Sainteloc.
Among the drivers set to compete in R8 LMS GT4s, Phoenix has confirmed that 17-year-old rising star Max Hesse will partner the already-announced Gosia Rdest in its #5 Audi R8 LMS GT4. The German teenager has enjoyed a successful 2018 season in touring cars and also made a one-off GT4 European Series outing at Spa-Francorchamps.
Alpine meanwhile, will be represented by CMR which will run with a pair of A110 GT4s. Amng its drivers are two familiar faces, in its #26 are Pierre-Alexandre Jean and Pierre Sancinena, who won two races in the second half of the FFSA GT4 series.
The #36 Alpine meanwhile, will see 2008 French GT champion David Tuchbant competing alongside Antoine Leclerc.
The two BMW M4 GT4s on the grid will be run by French outfit 3Y Technology. Philip Kadoorie will pair up with Dan Wells in the #37 car, with both drivers racing under the flag of Hong Kong. British-born Wells cut his teeth on the European scene and has since spent several years competing on the Asian continent in single-seaters and sportscars.
In the #39 BMW M4 GT4, ELMS regular Enzo Guibbert will pair up with Gilles Vannelet. The duo raced together for 3Y Technology at the Magny-Cours round of this season’s FFSA Championnat de France.
They will be joined by an EKRIS M4 GT4, which has been entered by Ekris Motorsport.
Two Mercedes AMG GT4s on the grid will be run by hugely successful Blancpain GT team AKKA ASP, which captured the overall teams’ and drivers’ championships in 2018 and Bullitt Racing. Bullitt will run notably with Andy Meyrick, in his return to racing after his incident in the Spa 24 Hours.
Academy Motorsport and Las Moras will run with 570S GT4s, the former moving over to the Woking-based brand from racing as an Aston Martin customer team in recent years.
Of the other marques on the list, the Ginetta will be run by Primus Racing, TFT Racing and Sportscarboutique will race Porsche Caymans, More than Racing will race a KTM and Scuderia Villorba Corse will run the single Maserati MC GT4.
This weekend the teams and drivers will take part in two practice sessions, two qualifying sessions, two qualifying races and a main race.
