Strakka Commits To Blancpain Endurance In ’19

No IGTC programme for the British outfit

Strakka Racing has announced its 2019 GT racing programme with Mercedes AMG, the former Le Mans LMP2 class-winning team scaling back from a joint Blancpain Endurance Cup-IGTC programme, to just the Endurance Cup next year.

In 2019, the team will contest the full Blancpain Endurance GT Series Endurance Cup, which consists of races at Monza, Silverstone, Paul Ricard, Spa Francorchamps and Barcelona, with the series’ jewel in the crown, the Spa 24 Hours, in July.

“We’re delighted to announce our plans for 2019. After a successful first year with Mercedes-AMG, we’re aiming at an even better second-year relationship,” said Jay Davenport, Strakka Racing Director. “We’re heading into the new year after ending this season with a win, so that gives us some good momentum.

“We’re looking to defend the Pro-Am Drivers Championship title in the Endurance Cup. At the moment we are evaluating whether we add a Silver or Am car to our line-up and we will announce our car and driver line-up in due course.”

There are no details of how many cars the team will race with, or any of the driver crews at this point.
