The draft 2020 calendar for the FIA Formula One World Championship again shows a direct clash with the Le Mans 24 Hours. The Canadian Grand Prix is currently proposed to take place on 14 June, the same date confirmed earlier this year for the 88th running of the Le Mans 24 Hours, and season finale of the 2019/20 FIA WEC.
The move comes as F1 unveiled a 22-race schedule, despite assurances by the FIA and F1 given following the controversy stirred by a direct clash between the then newly introduced Azerbaijan Grand Prix and Le Mans in 2016.
That move was widely perceived as a direct move to stymie the potential involvement of then current F1 drivers following the successful appearance of Nico Hulkenberg the previous year.
The draft F1 calendar requires the approval of the FIA World Motorsport Council.
