DragonSpeed have confirmed their return to the European Le Mans Series for 20120 with a single ORECA 07 Gibson with Ben Hanley once again leading the driving squad for the team’s fifth consecutive season in the ELMS. The ELMS programme confirmation follows the formal announcement of a full-season programme for the team in the LMP2 class of the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship.
DragonSpeed will field a new LMP2 ORECA 07-Gibson from their operating base in the south of France and will seek an entry at the Le Mans 24 Hours in addition to their ELMS campaign.
The team’s second driver is set to be announced shortly and the final seat still to be decided.
DragonSpeed team principal Elton Julian said, “Our plans have come together quickly in the past week, and we couldn’t be more delighted to confirm our continued participation in the ELMS. The competition in the series just gets stronger and stronger, so we are preparing for an all-out effort to repeat our 2017 success as champions, and hoping to extend that to include another assault on Le Mans.”
