Episode 1000 Of The Marshall Pruett Podcast, Racing Tales Part 1

Part One of three special shows to celebrate the milestone

My good friend and colleague Marshall Pruett is celebrating a podcasting milestone in some style, it’s the 1000th episode of his eponymous online product since it came staggering, blinking into the light some four years ago, starting with IndyCar content. A year or so later he added, with the assistance of Yours Truly, The Week in Sportscars and, so the numbers tell us, that too proved to be a hit!

Despite significant obstacles the content just keeps coming – from weekly shows focusing on Indycar (with his Gallic pal Sebastien Bourdais) and sportscars, plus short and long-form interviews, in-car and ambient racecar audio and so much more – being asked to be a part of the show has become something of a ‘must-have’ for many in the sport.

So how to celebrate this milestone which, coincidentally, has fallen as the Christmas season rapidly approaches?

The answer was to go for the kind of content we all love – Racing Stories – More than 40 favourite tales were captured from a wide array of legendary and infamous characters in racing, and they’ve been cut down to size and spread across three special episodes.

The first takes us from the Indy 500 to Le Mans to Formula 1 and back as some of our most popular guests and friends of the show uncorked 15 gems, all to make Episode 1000 a memorable one.
