Christian Klien will be racing a JP Motorsport-run McLaren 720S GT3 in three events this season with the team intending g to step up to the full Championship in 2022.
The team will contest the DTM events at Zolder (6-8 August), the Nürburgring (20-22 August) and Assen (17-19 September) this season.
The team will also switch from AMG to the Mclaren for their pre-announced GT Open campaign and are set to add to a number of GTWC Europe Endurance outings.
For Christian Klien, the DTM races mark his return to the DTM paddock where he raced in junior single-seater categories in the early years of his career. For instance, he scored four race wins in the 2003 Formula 3 Euro Series. In the same year, Klien also won the prestigious Formula 3 invitational race at Zandvoort. These achievements helped him to graduate into Formula 1 the following year.
