Heavy rain at Spa Francorchamps is hardly a rare occurrence but the scenes this afternoon after torrential downpours earlier will take some beating.
With a major regional race meeting underway the Red Flags came out after an initially wet track became a scene out of an Indiana Jones movie with a flash flood sweeping down the track, and over the armco barriers on the old pit straight.

Significant damage appears to have been caused to the track surface at La Source with paddock areas and the pedestrian and vehicle tunnels under the track completely flooded.
