The GT classes take centre stage for the first of two times in the 2021 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, with the Northeast Grand Prix at historic Lime Rock Park in Connecticut on July 16-17.
Seventeen cars are on the pre-event entry list – three in GT Le Mans (GTLM) and 14 in GT Daytona (GTD). Drivers, teams and manufacturers will be competing for points that count toward both the season-long championship and the IMSA WeatherTech Sprint Cup.
GTLM sees the pair of factory Corvettes line up against the #79 WeatherTech Porsche
GTD sees the now regular reshuffle of teams in and out with the #9 Pfaff Motorsport and #16 Wright Motorsports Porsche plus the #44 Magnus racing Acura returning, the #32 Gilbert/Korthoff Motorsports AMG not listed after the team’s season debut last time out.
