Aaron Scott stood back from his contemporary Sportscar driving career at the start of the 2021 season to concentrate on developing his fast-growing ScottSport business, principally targeting historic racing with restoration, rebuild and race preparation of a range of very special machinery from classic F1 cars through Group C and onto the ‘post-historic’ GT and prototype machinery.
That has seen a number of cars campaigned with success, most recently at the Silverstone Classic with Keith Freiser finally getting to race his ex Quifel ASM Zytek LMP1 and Michael McInerney sharing a Mosler MT900R with Aaron Scott himself.
There will be a trio of cars fielded by the outfit amongst the 57 car entries for the Endurance Racing Legends Le Mans support races too including the ex Jim Matthews Riley & Scott MkIIIC and the 2009 McInerney family-owned Ferrari 430 GTCs raced at Le Mans by Virgo Motorsport.
But the team is also still active in contemporary GT racing, operating a Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo in the GT Cup Championship for John Dhillon, a driver with whom Aaron Scott has a long history.
And Dhillon is now looking to find a road forward with the Lamborghini, with an entry logged already for the 10th Gulf 12 Hours in December at Yas Marina and ScottSport tasked with finding an appropriate 2022 progression, The International GT Open, Michelin Le Mans Cup and British GT Championship are all on the current evaluation list.
