With Alex Albon on F1 duty this weekend as reserve driver for the Red Bull Racing team at the Turkish Grand Prix, Nick Cassidy takes over the AlphaTauri Ferrari in the two final races of the 2021 DTM at the Norisring.
Cassidy has prior experience of the car, the circuit and the Championship with mileage at the official test at the Lausitzring added to race mileage with Hub Auto in both the Spa 24 Hours and Suzuka 10 Hours in 2019.
He raced at Norisring during spells in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship, finishing fourth in 2016.
And he took part in the 2-18 season finale for DTM in a guesting GT500 Super GT Lexus.
For the New Zealander, it is about supporting team-mate and compatriot Liam Lawson, who is leading the drivers’ standings, 14 points ahead of Kelvin van der Linde.
