One of the missing pieces in the DSC/ Endurance Info run down of the plans of the 2021 ELMS teams was TF Sport, their Portimao weekend turned sour with the elimination in Free Practice 2 of the #34 Oreca and that had a knock-on effect on the availability of Tom Ferrier for a 2022 download.
That moment was taken in Bahrain on arrival and the picture is very rosy for the UK-based team.
At present the confirmed plans include:
A continued two-car involvement in the 2022 FIA WEC where TF Sport has happy customers.
A returning GTE car in the European Le Mans Series plus the return of their LMP2 effort in Pro-Am.
There will also be a pair of GT3 Aston Martins in the 2022 Asian Le Mans Series.
There are other additional potential programmes under evaluation, all of which should be filed under ‘possible’ rather than ‘probable’ at present.
On the driver front, Ferrier was tight-lipped but DSC sources suggest a combination of a significant proportion of returning customers plus some new blood look set to make up the 2022 roster.
That seems a sensible conclusion to a season where the TF Sport ship has clearly been a happy one.
