Good News From Kessel, AF Corse & JOTA On 2022 Plans

Kessel add GTE cars for ELMS, AF Corse confirm WEC LMP2 drivers, JOTA to return with Two LMP2s, and expanded GTWCE McLaren effort

Kessel Racing will return to the FIA World Endurance Championship with a GTE Am entry, understood by DSC to be set to feature an all-Japanese driver line-up.

The good news for the ELMS GTE entry is that Kessel is also targeting a two-car GTE entry in the European Le Mans Series.

AF Corse’s 2022 FIA WEC and ELMS LMP2 programme with Francois Perrodo is also set to feature his 2021 GTE Am teammates from the WEC Alessio Rovera and Nicklas Nielsen.

Perrodo will then target a third, and possibly a fourth WEC title, he already has a pair of GTE AM Championships and the trio lead this season’s standings too ahead of today’s 6 Hours of Bahrain.

JOTA Sport have confirmed to DSC that they look set to return to the WEC with a two-car LMP2 entry.

The UK-based squad are also targeting a doubling up of their GT World Challenge Europe effort, pushing for a Silver Cup or Pro-Am McLaren effort to join their Pro squad on the 2022 grid.
