The #44 ARC Bratislava Oreca will see two changes in the driver line-up for this Saturday’s 2021 FIA WEC season finale the 8 Hours of Bahrain.
Miro Konopka continues and is joined, as previously announced, by Nelson Panciatici (seen below getting a seat fitting this morning).
The pair will now be joined by 19-year-old FIA F3 race winner Olli Caldwell.
The Bahrain race will be the British driver’s first sports prototype race though he has GT race experience, winning the GT4 class at the 2018 Gulf 12 Hours in a Bullitt Racing Mercedes AMG.
A planned start at the 2020 Bathurst 12 Hour though was foiled after the R-Motosport Aston Martin he was set to race was eliminated in a practice shunt by team-mate Marvin Marvin Kirchofer.
The car was driven last weekend by WEC debutant Kush Maini and Oliver Webb.
Also in evidence in the ARC Bratislava garage was a familiar face from the ELMS, Algarve Pro Racing’s Stewart Cox is present this week (see above), in addition to several APR technical staff.
With APR set to file a full-season entry for the 2022 FIA WEC, it looks likely that ARC Bratislava might link up for the Championship with the triple Asian Le Mans Series Championship-winning team.
